Freshman point guard stars again

Kimberly Beck was named the Atlantic 10 co-Rookie of the Week, sharing the award with Dayton’s Brittany Holerman. Beck had 11 points and seven assists in the Colonials win over No. 25 (ESPN) Richmond Wednesday night. It was the third time she earned the weekly award this season.

Women’s tennis

In their season opener, the Colonials fell to Old Dominion 6-1 Jan. 21. Freshman Kendall Swenson was GW’s only victor of the day. She defeated Fernanda Luiz 2-6, 6-4, 6-1.

Swimming and diving

The Colonials’ meet scheduled for Saturday was cancelled due to the snow that blanketed the District. The meet will not be rescheduled, but GW will be in action Wednesday at the Smith Center at 4 p.m.
