Woodard accessible on the Web

Student Association President Omar Woodard may sometimes be too busy for face-to-face meetings with his constituents, but he can be now be reached every Monday on the Internet.

AOL Instant Messenger users can log on Monday nights from 10 to 11 p.m. to have a live chat with Woodard, whose screen name is GWSAPrez. The first presidential chat took place Nov. 22.

“This is an innovative proposal to enhance advocacy and service to students,” Woodard said.

He said the initial online discussion was “successful,” adding that he spoke with a handful of students for approximately 30 minutes. Woodard said he will expand the initiative to include more hours if the program becomes popular.

The SA president said his initiative is in line with his promise to make the governing body more open to students.
