Assault With a Dangerous Weapon

9/29 – Gelman Library
7:12 a.m. – case closed
A contract worker performing construction at Gelman Library was attacked by two men he had just fired. The men punched the contractor and hit him with a copper pipe. The victim was transported to the GW Hospital Emergency Room for treatment. The two subjects evaded a University Police search immediately after the incident, though the victim later identified both assailants. Assault charges were filed with the Metropolitan Police Department.

Drug Law Violation

10/3 – Thurston Hall – 3:07 a.m. – case closed
An anonymous caller reported loud noises coming from a room. UPD smelled marijuana and called Community Living and Learning Center staff, who conducted an administrative search of the room. The search uncovered five grams of marijuana and various pieces of paraphernalia. Of the six people in the room, one was not a GW student; he was barred from campus.

10/1 – Clark Hall – 11:20 a.m. – case closed
During a scheduled fire drill, CLLC staff smelled a strange odor. An administrative search was conducted, and CLLC found 5.1 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

9/30 – Building JJ – 11:20 p.m. – case closed
UPD responded to a CLLC staff member’s report of a liquor law violation. Seven underage people and one who was over 21 were found to have consumed alcohol. UPD also found a pipe that contained traces of marijuana.

1:35 a.m. – case closed
UPD shut down a 12-person party. Ten students were underage, and none were in need of medical attention.

10/1 – Medical Faculty Associates
A female employee told UPD she was receiving harassing phone calls from a man who she had formerly been in a short relationship with. She was given a harassing phone call log.
