Black Eyed Peas to perform at Smith Center Nov. 14

Hip-hop act The Black Eyed Peas is scheduled to perform at the Smith Center Nov. 14, according to the publicity department at Interscope Records.

The group returned to the U.S. in August 2004 to continue touring, fresh off the release of its multi-platinum second album, “Elephunk.” The album included such hit singles as the Sept. 11 tribute song “Where’s the Love” featuring Justin Timberlake. With new leading lady Stacey Ferguson (“Fergie”) on board, the album is marked by producer Will.I.Am’s unique blend of deep funk, traditional hip-hop beats and samples.

Student Activities Center and Program Board officials said they could not confirm whether GW plans to “get retarded” with The Black Eyed Peas. But the date is listed on www.pollstar.com, and a publicist for the group who declined to be named said, “We have GW on our itinerary.”
