St. John’s chooses Roberts

St. John’s University hired University of Kansas assistant Norm Roberts as its head basketball coach this week, ending any speculation of GW head coach Karl Hobbs filling the position.

A New York Times article earlier this month named Hobbs as a potential candidate for the job left vacant by Mike Jarvis, whom St. John’s fired in December.

There was no report of Hobbs interviewing for the position.

Baseball rained out

Due to rainy conditions Tuesday, the GW baseball team’s game against Coppin State University was canceled.

It is the second time the match-up between these two teams has been rained out this year, the first time occurring March 31.

Because GW originally scheduled more games than needed, the cancellation will not be rescheduled for any future date.
