PB creates Spring Fling back-up plan

The annual Spring Fling will be held in the Smith Center on Saturday in the event of inclement weather, said Jonathan Reiling, executive chair of the Program Board.

The event is scheduled from noon to 6 p.m. on the Quad.

“Right now it’s looking pretty good,” Reiling said. “I think it’s going to be a nice day.”

Saturday’s weather should be partly cloudy with a high of 71 degrees, according to weather.com.

Hip-hop artist Kanye West will headline the event. Boston hip-hop performer NBS and GW bands Exit Clov and The Sunday Mail will also perform. Jurassic 5 performed at last year’s Spring Fling.

Themed “Bling Bling Spring Fling,” Saturday’s event will feature free food and amusements, including a mechanical bull, gladiator joust and a dunk tank. Students can also receive free T-shirts.

Reiling said the Quad is still usable after the Student Activities Center brought an ice skating rink on to campus earlier in the semester, which damaged the lawn. The South Asian Society held an event on the Quad last weekend.
