Women’s Water Polo struggles at ECAC Championships

The GW women’s water polo team went 1-2 this weekend at the ECAC Championships at Brown University. The Colonials opened the tournament with a 7-6 overtime win over Harvard University but struggled the rest of the way.

The Colonials dropped its second game to Hartwick College 11-4 and lost the third to Princeton University 14-3. GW seniors Vanessa Fravel and Kira Canon were both named to the all-tournament team.

GW will next play at the CWPA Southern Regionals Championships April 17-18.

Gymnastics sends two to regionals

The GW gymnastics team did not qualify for the NCAA Tournament, but two gymnasts represented the Colonials in individual events at the competition, which was held April 3 at North Carolina State University.

Junior Meagan Wilson tied for 18th place on the balance beam with a score of 9.800.

Sophomore Erin Aiken also competed on the vault, tying for 29th place with a score of 9.725.
