Alpha Phi plays matchmaker

The Alpha Phi sorority will hold its annual Dating Game Saturday to raise money for women’s heart disease prevention.

The event will be held in Funger Hall room 101 at 8 p.m. All proceeds will benefit Alpha Phi Heart Week, a philanthropy event dedicated to the prevention of the disease.

“It’s a great time to use the heart idea, with the Valentine’s Day theme,” said Sarah Griswold, director of publicity for the sorority.

Fraternity and sorority members will compete in up to eight rounds, in which four bachelors will compete for one bachelorette.

All contestants in the game will be organized by age to ensure appropriate match-ups, Griswold said.

All contestants will be “legitimately single,” she added.

“It’s a great idea and we can really raise a lot of money doing it,” Griswold said.
