SA looks to raise fees
The Student Association Rules Committee unanimously voted Tuesday to raise the SA fee to $2 per credit hour. Students currently pay $1 per credit hour up to 15 credits.

The bill also allows the fee to rise annually in proportion to tuition increases.

If the Senate passes the bill this semester, students will vote on it in the spring.

“Right now the constitution doesn’t allow the budget to grow with the student body,” Sen. Chrissy Trotta (U-CCAS) said. “If the constitution isn’t changed, the budget will remain the same indefinably.”

SA calls for no new printing fees

The SA Academic Affairs Committee passed legislation calling for a “printing fee freeze” on Tuesday.

The bill would prevent the University printing service, GW Prints, from raising the current 7-cent-per-page fee and charging students to print in residence halls.

“(There was an) informal agreement between the Student Association and GW Prints last year to keep printing fees out of the residence halls during the implementation of the printing fee,” said Sen. Ben Traverse (U-CCAS), who sponsored the bill.
