Varsity Roundup: Wise hired to coach women’s tennis and squash

The University named Megan Wise the new head coach for women’s tennis and women’s squash last month, replacing Helen Andrews in tennis and Sarah West in squash.

Wise comes to GW after serving as an assistant coach for men’s and women’s tennis at the University of Connecticut. She has also coached at the high school level.

A 2000 graduate of the University of Illinois, Wise is a former team captain and Most Valuable Player for the Illini. She did not respond to a message from The Hatchet seeking comment.

The women’s tennis team is coming off a 2002-03 season in which it finished fifth at the Atlantic 10 Championships. The women’s squash team will enter its second season of competition this year after finishing 2-5 in its opening campaign.
