Lambda Chi ALpha holds Watermelon Fest
The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity will host the main event for its fourth annual Watermelon Fest Sunday, an Olympic-style competition among seven sororities. The event is a week-long competition that also includes a lip-synch contest and food drive.

Sunday’s event will take place from 12 to 3 p.m. on the Quad, and the fraternity welcomes all students to attend.

Watermelon Fest is the fraternity’s largest philanthropy event, with about 350 people participating this year. All proceeds and canned food collected will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank in D.C.

More than 20,000 pounds of food have been donated annually in the past.
