University evaluates Asian fraternities and sororities
GW is in the process of selecting Asian fraternities and sororities to colonize on campus. Last semester, the University sent out a letter to Asian student organizations on campus asking them to organize groups of students to apply for University recognition. Out of the seven groups applying, four were chosen to make presentations March 7.

One Asian fraternity and sorority and one South Asian fraternity and sorority were chosen to solicit national organizations for potential University and national recognition.

The Multi-cultural Greek Council Executive Board will make a decision as to which groups will colonize on campus. The council will accept one to all four of the groups. The decision will be based on the quality of the presentation as well as student interest in the groups.

“Our goal is to help diversify the Greek life here,” said Miguel Ayala, assistant program coordinator for Greek Affairs. There is currently no official Greek Asian organization at GW.

Junior Jeffrey Chang said he is confident his group will receive a bid from the Pi Delta Psi national.

All students are invited to attend the presentations in the Marvin Center March 7.
