Sports Brief: Brown sees little playing time in USBL

Former GW basketball standout SirValiant Brown has played only seven minutes in the United States Basketball League season since landing a spot on the Pennsylvania Valleydawgs in April.

Brown made his lone appearance of the year in his team’s win over the Brooklyn Kings April 27. The guard’s five-point, one-assist performance was seen by a crowd of 387 in Brooklyn, NY.

Joining Brown on the defending USBL Champion Valleydawgs are former Atlantic 10 foes Quincy Wadley and Ron Rollerson. The Valleydawgs, based in Easton, PA, are coached by former NBA star Darryl Dawkins.

Brown left GW after the 2000-2001 season his sophomore year with high NBA expectations, but failed to make the roster of any NBA or NBDL team. The USBL season ran April 19 to June 30.
