Posted 5:05 p.m. June 3 Local news media reported Monday that a man found in a K Street apartment Saturday was the victim of a homicide.

The University Police crime log has a report of a murder that occurred at 2517 K St., the Shoremeade apartment building, sometime between Friday and Monday.

Metropolitan Police said the cause of death was strangulation, but have not yet released the name of the victim.

The NBC 4 Web site reported that the body was discovered at about 3:15 Saturday in a second-floor apartment after the man failed to show up for the Race for the Cure and a $10,000 reward has been offered in the case.
