UPD was called at 2 a.m. to break up a fight between two males, one of whom is a GW student. The student, 18, had invited the other male, 22, back to his girlfriend’s room in Mitchell Hall after being kicked out of Platinum that night. The fight started when the non-student began banging on doors in Mitchell. He was barred, along with another non-student that came with him from the club.

At 9:25 p.m., a female complainant in her mid-30s requested UPD’s assistance in removing her boyfriend, who is in his early 40s, from her car. UPD removed the man from the car and escorted him to the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. Neither are GW students, but it is unclear whether they are affiliated with GW.

Simple Assault

3/1 – 2200 block Virginia Ave.
A female student reported that she was walking east on Virginia Avenue in front of the State Department at about 10:45 a.m. when a male blocked her path and grabbed her arm. She ran to the UPD substation at 520 22nd St. and notified an officer. A dispatcher was notified, and searched for the man, who was described as a black male, 5-feet-11-inches tall, between 30 and 35 years old, wearing a distinctive ski cap. He was not found.

3/4 – 20th and H streets
A male student reported that he was crossing 20th and H streets at about 3 p.m. when he made eye contact with the driver of a moving truck with its flashers on. The driver blew his horn, and the student raised his middle finger. The driver got out of the truck and punched the victim in the face then left the scene. The student had a large bruise but refused medical attention. The suspect is described as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, between 25 and 30 years old, with facial hair. The license plate of his white Chevrolet truck was recorded, and the case was referred to MPD.

2/28 – Thurston Hall
A female student entered the Thurston Hall room she lived in during August 2001 to retrieve a chair she had left there. She left a note for the residents, who were not present at the time. They were uncomfortable that she entered without their knowledge and notified UPD.
