Crime Log

Two students reported that the same man sexually assaulted them last summer. They have not made a decision as to whether they will pursue criminal charges. Closed

Theft
2/19 – Lafayette Hall
At about 9:20 a.m. a student noticed that his and his roommates laptops had been stolen. The student said he had lost his room key three weeks earlier. There were no signs of forced entry. UPD is investigating.

A student reported that he left his room unlocked and returned to find his laptop computer was stolen. Open

2/21 – Ross Hall
A student reported going to a study area at about 2:45 p.m. When she left at about 5 p.m., she found that her wallet and keys were missing. By the time she notified her credit card companies, more than $4,000 had been charged to her Platinum Master Card. The charges were made off campus in D.C. and Maryland.

2/22 – Academic Center
A student reported that his bike was stolen from the bike racks outside the Academic Center between 10 and 11 p.m. The student said the bike had been locked to the rack. There are no suspects or witnesses. Closed

Harassment
2/19 – A student reported that she had received harassing phone calls on her cell phone. The caller would breathe heavily into the phone. The student was given a phone log to keep track of the harassing calls. UPD is currently investigating. Open

2/23 – Thurston Hall
Two students reported that a male student had called them “bitches.” A community facilitator discussed the situation with the subject, and the subject apologized for making the comment.

Drug Law Violation
2/25 – Somers Hall
At about 2 a.m., a UPD officer smelled marijuana. The community director was notified and conducted an administrative search. Drugs and drug paraphernalia were discovered in the room. One roommate took responsibility for items belonging to him.
