The GW women’s tennis team swept three doubles matches and nearly all singles matches to defeat Howard 6-1 Friday at Mount Vernon.
Junior Tracy Wei won a close match with Howard’s Kimberly Strickland in second singles, 6-4, 6-4. Head Coach Helen Andrews said Wei climbed back from being down three games to five straight.
“It was a great turn around for her,” Andrews said.
Earlier that morning, the women fell to Davidson, 2-5. GW’s only two points were earned by Gencsoy and Wei after they defeated Davidson’s Maggie Patterson and Meghan Fillnow in the No. 2 and 3 spots.
