Men’s tennis falls to Old Dominion

The GW men’s tennis team fell short against Old Dominion Friday, losing 5-2 against the Monarchs in Norfolk, Va. GW freshmen Matt Treadgold and Brett Warner were the only singles players to win their matches. Treadgold bounced back after losing the first set in his match and defeated Old Dominion’s Patrick Binowski 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 4 singles.

Warner, at No 6 singles, won his match by default. All the remaining Colonials lost the their matches in straight sets, including No. 1 sophomore Matt Hane, No. 3 senior Kevin Wright and No. 5 senior Kinzie Wright. GW lost all three doubles matches in one set.

The team has a chance to even out this year’s record when GW hosts American Friday.-Jason Lipshultz
