Cookie Olshein (production coordinator, ’88) won $135,000 on the now-defunct game show “21. ”

Mark Vane (editor in chief, ’90) and Sharyn Wizda (news editor, ’89) are engaged to be married in February.

Robert Greenfield (editorials editor, ’92) is celebrating his newest position: father! He and his wife, Julianna, are the proud parents of a baby girl.

U.S. Army Capt. Yosefi Seltzer (staff writer, ’93) married Michelle Appelrouth of Atlanta April 22. He is an active-duty captain in the Army and the special assistant U.S. attorney for Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia. Seltzer received his law degree from the University of Maryland in May 1999 and is a member of the New York and Maryland bars. The couple lives in Savannah, Ga.

Deborah Solomon (editor in chief, ’94) married Jed Graham Sept. 8 at San Fransisco’s St. Francis Yacht Club. Solomon is a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, and Graham writes for Investor’s Business Daily.

Sarah Western (arts/features editor, ’94) has worked in the music industry since graduating and now does label relations work for AOL Music in New York. She works schedules and programs music featured on AOL and its properties. Western bought an apartment this summer in New York’s West Village.

Heather (O’Connor) Cole (senior production assistant, ’96) is a media relations specialist for Bentley College in Waltham, Mass. In addition to writing press releases and pitching stories, she edits the biweekly faculty/staff newsletter. Cole previously was a study-abroad adviser at Bentley.

Donna Brutkoski (opinions editor, ’97) is assistant news editor at Newsday, where she has worked for more than four years. She works as copy chief of the city edition, lays out pages and fills in as news editor.

Jennifer (Fessler) Uppole (marketing director, ’97) is a mother! She and her husband, Paul, welcomed a baby last spring.

Heather Hare (arts editor, ’98) is a features reporter with the Binghamton (N.Y.) Press and Sun-Bulletin. She joined the staff a year ago and recently began writing a weekly column on the editorial page. Previously, Hare worked as an education reporter at the Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C.

Dave Mann (managing editor, ’99) is a staff writer at Fort Worth Weekly, an alternative weekly newspaper in Fort Worth, Texas.

Matt Berger (special projects editor, U-Wire bureau chief, ’00) is Washington correspondent for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, where he covers the State Department with a focus on U.S.-Middle East relations. Berger’s writing appears in Jewish newspapers across the country and the Jerusalem Post.
