Attempted Pickpocketing
10/18/01 – Medical Faculty Association
A male student was in an elevator when another passenger in the elevator appeared to have a seizure. When the student’s attention was diverted to the apparently sick man, another passenger attempted to take his wallet. The seizure came to an abrupt end, and the man walked out of the elevator along with the man who had attempted to snatch the wallet.

UPD was investigating a fire alarm at the Dakota when someone reported to the officers that eggs were being thrown at his vehicle from the 5th floor of Guthridge hall.

10/18/01 – Marvin Center
At 1:40 a.m., a UPD officer came across a female trying to go the 5th floor of the Marvin Center. He told her it was closed but she would not listen. He eventually escorted her out because she had not presented a valid form of identification. The female was eventually identified as a GW student.

A female student was at a party at the fraternity’s house at 2:30 a.m. when a male subject started to kiss her, then held her hands above her head and fondled her in a sexual manner. The female shouted and was released. She then left the party and has not identified the suspect. Open

10/21/01 – City Hall
A male student and a female student were “physically goofing around” in his room at 9:50 p.m., when the male allegedly put his hands inside the female’s shirt and fondled her breasts. He was later questioned by MPD and claimed that he was tickling her and accidentally touched her breasts. UPD and MPD are both investigating Open

Simple Assault
10/16/01 – Schenley Hall
A female student allowed a male student to spend the night in her room Oct. 15. He returned to the room on Oct. 17 to retrieve some items that were missing from his overnight bag. At some point, the male student became upset and kicked in the front door of the female student’s room. Open

Weapons Violation
10/20/01 – Thurston Hall
Employees working in the Thurston Hall mailroom noticed a suspicious package. UPD was called, and found that the package contained a machete, of which they took possession.
