Men’s tennis splits weekend

The GW men’s tennis team split the weekend at St. Bonaventure with a 5-2 loss to the host Bonnies Friday, but defeated Cleveland State 7-0 Saturday in the team’s final regular season matches.

The Colonials (9-11) will head to Pittsburgh for the Atlantic 10 Championship next weekend at Duquesne.

On Saturday, the Colonials cruised to victory winning every match against Cleveland State. Matt Hane continued his strong play, winning his doubles match with partner Steve Cady. Cady also won his singles match, completing an undefeated weekend.

Hane and Kinzie Wright provided GW’s only doubles win with an 8-4 victory against the Bonnie’s Joel Carney and Mark Gorski on Friday.

Hane also won in singles taking Brett Warner to a tiebreaker after losing the first set to pull out victory, 3-6, 7-5, (10-2).
