Massachusetts entered the game as the best three-point shooting team in the Atlantic 10, but was held to 8.7 percent shooting from deep by the Colonials.
The Colonials ended the night shooting 55.1 percent from the field while forcing the Minutemen to give up the ball 13 times in the game.
The Colonials, who are 0-3 on the year, had strong showings on the mound but have room to grow at the plate and on defense.
