CADE sponsors wellness fair

The Health and Wellness Steering Committee, part of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Education, encourages students to save a little love for themselves this Valentine’s Day by sponsoring the Love Your Body Fair Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hippodrome.

“The Health and Wellness Steering Committee recognizes that there are many different components to having a healthy lifestyle,” said Brian Hamluk, director of CADE. “It seems like each of our areas are doing so many different things individually to promote general health issues among students. This is just a great way to bring together the different offices and put on a larger, more comprehensive program.”

Events at the fair will include massage therapy, kickboxing, self-defense and yoga demonstrations.

“This event is a program that combines the many requests that students have made regarding areas they would like to learn about personal health and wellness,” Hamluk said.

Hamluk said several exhibitions will highlight the fair, including a self-defense program beginning at 12:30 p.m.

“This is exciting because the program not only consists of many of the offices and services on campus, but we are also bringing in a number of off-campus services including a nutritionist, art and aroma therapy, and The Body Shop,” Hamluk said.
