Hey, the next time GW has the opportunity to host an event honoring American heroes – our veterans – let’s make sure we get the GW College Democrats to protest. I mean come on, why don’t you guys just kick my dog while you are at it?
To say the least, it was in poor taste to protest an event honoring America’s veterans. Even my grandfather, who was a Democrat to the day he died and who served in World War II, would have been disappointed with the intentions of the GW College Democrats when they attempted to organize a protest at last Friday’s Smith Center event.
Protesting and expressing your First Amendment right is a healthy exercise of our democracy, but at the same time, remember to have respect for those who fought to preserve that freedom.
An apology to America’s veterans and the GW community for your poor judgment would be an appropriate gesture.
