Sports Briefs

Men finish third at Patriot InvitationalGW senior Wes Teter won the 100-yard freestyle event in last weekend’s Patriot Invitational and led the men’s team to a third-place finish. The women’s team placed seventh, led by the efforts of freshman Kristen Fagley, who finished third in the 500-yard freestyle and fifth in the 200-yard event.

GW freshman Andrew De Sorbo was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row after his strong performance at the Invitational. De Sorbo placed second out of 24 swimmers in two events.

Monroe wins A-10 Honors

GW sophomore Chris Monroe won the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honors averaging 23 points and 10 rebounds in two games against the University of South Florida and No.19 St. John’s University.
