Crew posts best finish ever

Crew posts best finishes ever at Princeton

The men’s and women’s novice crew teams closed out their fall racing season with strong performances last weekend at the Belly of the Carnegie in Princeton, N.J. In the women’s open eight event, GW `A’ finished fifth with a time of 16:33.30 while the GW `B’ squad came in 13th (17:00.00). The Cornell University `B’ team won the event with a time of 15:34.00 followed by Cornell `A’ (15:50.5).

On the men’s side, the GW `A’ finished 11th (14:24.20) and GW `B’ placed 19th (15:56.70). Princeton University’s `B’ boat (13:42.30) captured the event by narrowly defeating Princeton `A’ by less than four seconds.

GW’s results were its best ever at the race. Last year the women’s top finishers were ninth and 15th, while GW’s top men’s boats finished in 17th and 18th.
