WEB ONLY: SAC offers holiday bus service

The Student Activities Center is offering a holiday bus service for the Thanksgiving holiday and winter break, said Jeff Dagley, senior secretary for SAC.

The bus service takes students to locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.

We are trying to provide students with the option to come and go from the University, Dagley said. Plus, it’s cheaper (than a Greyhound bus or Amtrak train).

Tickets cost $50 roundtrip to New Jersey, $60 to New York and $30 to Pennsylvania.

Chartered buses leave from the Marvin Center, Dagley said. For the Thanksgiving holiday, two buses travel to the Metropark Station in Iselin, N.J., one bus goes to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City and one bus goes to Wynnewood, Pa.

For the winter break, one bus goes to each state.

Students usually have different plans (for winter break), Dagley said.

Sophomore Rochelle Weiner said she used the bus service last year and, she will use it again this year because it is more convenient than taking a train.

It was very convenient and much cheaper than going by train, she said. Plus I didn’t have to wait at the train station and I avoided the holiday crowds.
