PAUL closes in Western Market

Swimming loses to Virginia Tech

It was a tough couple of matches for the GW men’s and women’s swimming teams, which lost to Virginia Tech at the Smith Center last Saturday. The men’s team lost 153-87 to the visiting Hokies, while the women’s team lost 149-91.

Freshman Ryan White led the men’s team with two first-place finishes in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle races. Senior Alvaro Fortuny won the 100-yard breaststroke for GW with a time of :57.42. Junior Nell Friar also won the 100-yard breaststroke for the women’s team with a time of 1:06.00.
