Host Old Dominion University crushed the GW women’s soccer team 5-0 Wednesday, scoring four goals in the first 11 minutes of the contest. The loss is strikingly similar to the Colonials’ defeats last weekend, when they gave up nine first-half goals – six coming in the first 14 minutes of their matches against Syracuse and Rutgers universities.
The Lady Monarchs out-shot the Colonials 23-5, forcing GW goalkeeper Christine O’Malley to make 10 saves. GW’s road schedule does not get any easier as Tanya Vogel’s team travels to Virginia Tech Sunday afternoon.-Zach Leibowitz
