5 Svetlana Vtyurina
Volleyball (1992-1996)
Svetlana Vtyurina is one of the most dominating offensive players in NCAA volleyball history. At the Smith Center on Nov. 11, 1995, she became the all-time NCAA kills leader. She still owns the NCAA career mark with 3,043 kills. She also owns the NCAA single game mark of 56.
Vtyurina is the only athlete in A-10 history to be named Player of the Year as a freshman. She took the award again as a senior. She was also named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America second team in 1994, when GW advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, as it did three of Vtyurina’s four seasons.
