GW’s Greatest Basketball Players: Women

First Team

Debbie Hemery (1991-95; 5-9 guard; Jackson Heights, N.Y.). 1995 A-10 Player of the Year; AP honorable mention; third on scoring list.

Darlene Saar (1991-95; 6-0 forward; Glendale, N.Y.). 1995 AP honorable mention; 1992 Rookie of the Year; second on scoring list.

Kas Allen (1983-88; 6-0 forward; Arlington, Va.). Averaged 22.5 points from 1983-84, a GW single season record; has three of the top seven scoring games in history.

Noelia Gomez (1996-99; 6-3 forward; Madrid, Spain). 1999 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year; 1997 Rookie of the Year; played just three years, but is sixth on career scoring list with 1,600 points.

Tajama Abraham (1993-97; 6-2 forward; Hampton, Va.)

Second Team

Karin Vadelund (1986-90; 5-6 guard; Rockville, Md.). Scored 1,400 points in GW career.

Elisa Aguilar (1997-00; 5-8 guard; Madrid, Spain). First team all A-10 in 2000.

Kelly Ballentine (1982-86; 5-9 guard; Boca Raton, Fla.). Holds school record with 40 points in a 1983 game.

Jennifer Shasky (1989-93; 5-10 forward; Birmingham, Miss.). First team all A-10 in 1992.

Tracey Early (1985-89; 5-11 forward; Rockville, Md.). First team all A-10 in 1988 and 1989.
