Group brings together artists

GW’s creative community is thriving. In recent years, the number of student theater groups, a cappella groups and other creative ventures has skyrocketed. And there’s another group to add to the list – Washington Free Collaboration.

The organization, which was started a few months ago by Antonietta Vicario and Jamie Fennelly, is an opportunity for GW dancers, musicians and poets to come together and collaborate in an improvisational performance.

Our thoughts behind creating this organization was that there are so many talented artists here at GW and that we never pooled together our creativity, Vicario said in an e-mail. It was about time that some students got together to create more unity within the arts here at GW.

The group will meet for the third time Thursday. However, this time around, the various groups participating will be working from one common theme. They are currently working with numerous ideas, including emergence and rebirth.

Washington Free Collaboration will perform Thursday at 10:30 in Building J.
