GW’s Greatest Games: 8 – GW 1, No. 1 Indiana 0

October 1, 1988
Men’s Soccer

The 1988 Colonials did not even score in their first five games, while No. 1 Indiana University (who had managed to score in 41 straight) was on its way to a second-straight national championship. But on this day, GW was better than the best team in the nation, knocking off the Hoosiers 1-0 behind a goal from Andrew Morrison scored just 49 seconds into the game.

On paper, they’re better, said Coach George Lidster after the game, but today Lady Luck was on our side. It wasn’t a fluke.
