Online and out of luck: Tips to avoid cyber date disasters

1. Clarify everyone’s expectations. Make sure you know what the person hopes to get out of the relationship.

2. Just because you know someone online for some time, do not let your guard down any sooner than with a traditional date.

3. Double date if possible. Your friends are probably dying to get the juicy details anyway, so invite them along

4. Conduct dates in very public places.

5. Avoid relying on your date for transportation, in case you need to end the date early.

6. Never leave your food or beverages unattended and leave yourself susceptible to powerful drugs that lower inhibitions.

7. Let someone know your plans. Tell someone who you are going to be with, including names and phone numbers. Agree to be home by a certain time, or call someone to let him or her know if you’ll be late.
