SA, PB, MCGB to hold elections this week

The Student Association, Program Board and Marvin Center Governing Board will hold their annual elections Tuesday and Wednesday.

Students can vote from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Marvin Center, Funger Hall, the Hall of Government/Monroe Hall complex, Ross Hall, the Law School Complex, Thurston Hall and the Hall on Virginia Avenue, according to the SA Election Committee Web site. A voting station will also be located at Mount Vernon’s dining hall, said Jeff Baxter, chair of the SA Election Committee.

The elections are on the same day, the two elections committees have been working harmoniously, and all three organizations are splitting the cost of the elections, SA President Caity Leu said.

SA presidential and executive vice presidential candidates must obtain 40 percent of the vote, plus one additional vote to win the race. If no candidate obtains enough votes, a runoff election will be held March 7 and 8 to determine who takes office.
