RHA to provide televised coverage of lottery

The Residence Hall Association will provide televised updates of the lottery in an effort to reduce overcrowding and confusion during Saturday’s housing lottery, RHA President Alan Elias said.

Campus cable channel 33 will broadcast lottery updates, including groups of numbers being called and sections of rooms that have closed, Elias said.

After what happened last year, we’re hoping to keep the overcrowding of J Street down, he said. Now, students don’t have to sit and wait for three hours before their number is called.

The broadcast will begin at 9 a.m. for the housing selection on Mount Vernon. The selection for Foggy Bottom students will begin at 10 a.m.

The televised updates also will be available during rising sophomore selection March 4.
