News Brief

GW is investigating an unregistered mixer between Kappa Sigma and Delta Gamma, a University official said.

David Pine, manager of Student Judicial Services, said his office received a report that there was an unregistered mixer. He said alcohol was present at the event, according to the report his office received.

Tom Vecchio, Kappa Sigma president, said there was a mixer scheduled but said that it was canceled. He said there were Kappa Sigma brothers attending the event that was held in place of the canceled mixer.

Tracie Anzaldi, GW’s coordinator for Greek Affairs, said the mixer was not an authorized event. She said there was alcohol present at the event, and she turned over the information she received to the Office of Student Judicial Services.

Vecchio said he heard of some correspondence about possible judicial action. Vecchio said there were two girls arrested at the event, but added he did not know their affiliation. He said no Kappa Sigmas were arrested at the event.

Cori Gilbert, collegiate development consultant for Delta Gamma, said Delta Gamma would have no official comment.
