Negative manner regretful

Good writing always keeps me reading, and I felt compelled to continue reading Richard Alan Weiss’ article last week defending sweatshops. Although I didn’t necessarily agree with everything he said, I think he put forth a good argument with sufficient supporting detail.

The tone of his article, however, seemed pompous and condescending at the very least. If he had taken the edge off the article, I think he could have had more success persuading, rather than alienating, his target audience. This old clich? still holds true: It’s not what you say so much as how you say it. I think we all have failed at times in this regard. Perhaps Mr. Weiss might agree.
