New coaches join GW

Tanya Vogel was named the new women’s soccer coach Dec. 21. She replaces Michele Rodriguez-Smith, who led the Colonial women to a 3-15-1 record in 1999.

Vogel is a 1996 GW graduate. As Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 1996, she led the squad to a 10-7-4 record and the NCAA Tournament. She was most recently an assistant coach at Cornell University.

Dennis Healy, a 1996 GW graduate, joined the baseball team Dec. 21 as an assistant coach. He pitched four years for the Colonials.

Gene Kininmonth joined the GW crew team as an assistant to Steve Peterson Dec. 13. He will be in charge of the men’s crew team.
