George Washington Women vs.Virginia Tech WomenSmith Center, Saturday, Jan. 17, 2 p.m.

The GW women’s basketball team will return to the Smith Center for the first time in two weeks when it faces a Virginia Tech team much improved from its last-place Atlantic 10 West finish last season. Standing at 9-6, 3-2 in the A-10, the Hokies are led by freshman standout Tere Williams, who leads the team in scoring (11.8 ppg) and rebounding (6.7 rpg). Sophomore center Kim Seaver leads the A-10 with 1.40 blocks per game.

George Washington Menvs.Dayton MenSmith Center, Sunday, Jan. 18, 2 p.m.

The GW men’s basketball team will take on an improving Dayton team Sunday. The Flyers, in their fourth season under Coach Oliver Purnell, are 11-4 on the season and 3-0 in the Atlantic 10. Dayton is led by 6-7 senior forward Ryan Perryman (14.0 ppg, 12.1 rpg), a second team All A-10 selection last season. Junior Coby Turner (13.6 ppg) compliments Perryman at the other forward to give Dayton a strong frontcourt. Turner is shooting 61.9 percent from three-point range.
