Ted’s Bulletin is the middle ground between old-timey diner and modern bistro. To break up the monotony of Foggy Bottom, head to Ted’s to satisfy your grilled cheese craving.

Ted’s grilled cheese is comfort food at its finest, and it’s worth the trek. Gluttonous amounts of butter and cheese, crisp toast and a side of pickles for $10.89 is oh-so delicious. The sandwich also comes with a big bowl of creamy tomato soup, making it the perfect lunch.

You can add a side of tater tots for $6.49. If you’re feeling more ambitious, you can upgrade your sandwich by adding bacon for $2 extra.

If you’re feeling daring, or just really hungover, get the Super Deluxe – it’s stuffed with short ribs and macaroni and cheese for $15.89. Although it’s served without soup, it’s worth it purely based on taste alone. The Super Deluxe perfectly balances a crunchy, toasted outside with a soft, gooey inside of cheesy goodness and tender barbecue.

The place has a cool retro vibe, with a projector playing ’50s TV movies and speakers blasting music from the 1930s and 1940s.

Still not convinced? Top your meal off with a homemade pop tart, pie or doughnut. Then head home and take a nap.
