Parents, listen to these songs on your drive to GW

Parents, too, need to get ready to see you as they visit campus this weekend.

These tunes will entertain your folks on the trip to GW and help immerse them in college life for a few hours.

“Wagon Wheel” by Old Crow Medicine Show
This cliche but catchy tune is the average college kid’s go-to country song. Your parents will be in the loop, too, considering this is probably the only country song every person on campus knows.

“Kiss” by Prince
Throw it back to your parents’ golden days.

“Wannabe” by Spice Girls
This is the perfect song for your mom to be jamming to when you tell her you’re getting a C in Biology.

“Come on Eileen” by Dexys Midnight Runners
Parents are likely to know this one, and will have some weird fit of nostalgia when they hear it – so get ready for the never-ending “When I was in college” stories.

“Hey Ya” by OutKast
Remember when this was the only song played in the lines at Six Flags? If not, your parents sure do from all those times they took you there. Remind them of your childhood, full of cuteness and innocence.

“Dani California” by Red Hot Chili Peppers
This song screams, “Yes, I paid for these ripped jeans and this pre-faded flannel with your money,” which is just what your parents are dying to hear. Also, your dad did say that anything is better than “Kanye North.”

“Every Breath You Take” by The Police
Your parents wish they could see every breath you take – not in a creepy, stalker way, but more of a we-love-you-but-worry-about-your-decision-making-skills way. Also, they already know this one, so give them a break from college for a few minutes.

“American Pie” by Don McLean
Students and parents alike know this classic. Everyone has a moment when this song inevitably comes on at barbecues, so why not have those good vibes on campus?

“Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen
For some reason, parents love this one. Give ‘em a treat. Plus you secretly love this song, too, you can admit it.

“Peanut Butter Jelly” by Galantis
Weird, but super fun. Ever met someone that doesn’t like this song? Didn’t think so. This mix of EDM and funny, childish lyrics will pump you and your parents up while keeping things G-rated.
