Actually, GW’s terrible bureaucracy and terrible infrastructure (dorms, libraries, etc.) are more likely to diminish alum support.

The school grants actual degrees to hundreds (thousands?) of conservative students each year — who cares?

I wholeheartedly DESPISE Cantor’s politics but I wouldn’t be too upset if he received an honorary degree. He’s a successful alumni, and those are who should be honored. GW has plenty of other honorary degrees to non-alumni that they should be ashamed of (Hosni Mubarak and Tony freaking Bennett to name a few)

Selecting Eric cantor would a way to show the world that GW is not run by the Democratic Party as most outsiders would reasonably assume.

Oh boo frickity hoo.

You can’t stand to see anyone recognized who is not a barking at the moon liberal? Or are you just mad that Rep. Cantor is a contradiction in your eyes by being a Republican, who also happens to be Jewish?

I’m glad that GW has a diverse slate of honorees. I don’t always agree with their politics, but I understand that many of them have made significant accomplishments.

Eric Cantor’s recognition by GW will possibly result in the diminishing of alumni support.
