They will be replacing the water mains, which are more than 75 years old, reparing and replacing sewage basins,  and fixing and redoing all the other utilities (electricity, fiber optic cables, etc). That&#039;s the vast majority of the work. The easy stuff is the most visible. That involves repaving, putting in bike lanes, new sidewalks, etc; 

If they were just repaving and installing bike lanes, it would take a couple of weeks, at most. But when you&#039;re dealing with in-ground infrastructure, that&#039;s why they say it&#039;s an 18 month project.</description>
