$1,000 worth of items stolen from Academic Center

Items valued at nearly $1,000 were stolen from a University staff member’s office in the Academic Center last Tuesday, according to a police report.

Ikuko Turner, an executive coordinator at the Language Center, told police that an unknown suspect entered her unlocked office on the second floor of Phillips Hall and stole her purse, the report states. Turner reported an iPod, cell phone, driver’s license and credit cards missing.

The incident occurred between 2 p.m. and 2:45 p.m., and Turner did not see the perpetrator take her bag or exit the building, according to the report.

Turner reported a total of $955.75 missing. She could not be reached for comment over the weekend.
