Golf captures Joe Agee Invitational

The GW golf team was victorious at the Joe Agee Invitational in Williamsburg, Va., on Oct. 4 after posting a team score of 865. Senior Brian Carroll posted a six-under par 210 (70-72-68) to capture the individual title. Junior Tim Johnson shot a three-under par 213 (73-68-72) to tie for second. The Colonials snuck by Atlantic 10 rival Saint Joseph’s by five strokes at the Two Rivers Country Club. Old Dominion finished in third place with an 871.

Men’s water polo tops Claremont

Led by junior Julian Price and sophomore goalie Chris Whittam, the GW men’s water polo squad beat Claremont Mudd Scripps College 9-6 on Oct. 5. Price scored two early goals to jumpstart the squad while Price made saves down the stretch to ensure the GW victory. With the win, the squad improves to 7-10 on the year. The team continues in the Claremont Convergence Tournament over the weekend, facing Chapman and Cal Lutheran on Friday followed by La Verne and Whittier on Saturday.
