Posted Monday, Sept. 19, 11:45 p.m. The University’s homepage, www.gwu.edu, has been offline due to a “major hardware problem” since 10:20 p.m. Monday night, according to a message posted on the site.

The message, signed “Caldwell,” said the site will not be available during the immediate future, and efforts are being made to have the site online “as early as possible tomorrow.” Christopher Jon Caldwell, an engineer, could not be reached for comment Monday night. All content is absent from the site except the message.

GW’s director of media relations, Tracy Schario, contacted an hour after the message was posted, said she was unaware of the situation. MyGW, GWeb, Blackboard and CMail all appear to be functioning normally.
