Senate adds Elliott School seat

The Student Association will add a seat to the Senate to accommodate the growing undergraduate population of the Elliott School of International Affairs. There are more than 2,000 undergraduate students in the school this year.

Applications for the position are available on the SA Web site, senate.gwu.edu, or in the SA office. Three applicants will be chosen by the rules committee to be interviewed for the open seat. At the Oct. 5 Senate meeting, the nominee will be confirmed by the entire Senate body.

The graduate division of the Business School is losing a seat in the Senate this year. The seat is currently vacant.

“These fluctuations happen all the time,” Senate Chief of Staff Justin Neidig said. “The graduate division of the business school may lose a seat now but gain it back next semester as their population increases.”
